Why train with Tampa Combat?
TAMPA COMBAT has offered Grappling, Kickboxing, Self-Defense and Fitness training since 2003. We offer more martial arts and fitness disciplines than any academy in our area. Classes available include: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, KettleSport Fitness, Wrestling, CombatFit, Kids After School Training and Bullyproof Camps. We provide a NO EGO training atmosphere that is good for anyone wanting to learn. We pride ourselves on teaching proper technique and believe that mastering the basics is the best way to learn and advance your skills.
Classes are available to EVERYONE and NO EXPERIENCE is necessary.
We have students ranging in age from 7 years old to the mid-60's. Classes include amateur and professional fighters as well as beginner and novice students. We train as a team and treat each other as family. Come in today for a free consultation!
bRazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is the most effective and realistic fighting system today. By addressing the fact that most real fights go to the ground, BJJ offers its students the ability to defeat larger opponents through the application of ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint-locks, choke holds and also throwing techniques. The premise is that most of the advantage of a larger, stronger opponent comes from superior reach and more powerful strikes, both of which are somewhat negated when grappling on the ground.
KICKBOXING
Kickboxing is loosely referred to as a combat sport which is based on kicking and punching techniques. It is most commonly practiced as a self-defense, fitness or contact sport. Historically, kickboxing can be considered a 'hybrid' martial art formed from the combination of elements and techniques from various traditional martial arts, such as karate, taekwondo, boxing, etc. Full Contact Karate (American), K-1 (Japanese), Muay Thai (Thai), Savate (French), and Dutch (Europe) are some of the most commonly practiced competiton styles of kickboxing, around the world, today. As a hybrid art, many academies offer kickboxing as a self-defense and fitness class and offer rank testing for its students. Ranking is similar to traditional martial arts belt systems and is a great way for students to track their progress as they learn kickboxing as a self-defense style as well as a sport.
Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is the fastest growing sport in the world. MMA is made up of a wide variety of fighting techniques from various martial arts, including; Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, wrestling and more. In competitions, MMA allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques. This allows the athlete to be well rounded with the ability to fight both standing and on the ground. From a self-defense persepective the student learns to protect themselves by using these techniques from various positions thus removing the threat of one dimensional learning.
Kids training
At TAMPA COMBAT, our youth classes are geared towards giving your child the best experience possible while teaching them valuable life lessons and improving their physical standards. Whether your child trains in Fitness, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Bullyproof Camp or all of them, he or she will learn discipline, give & gain respect and increase their confidence.
Grades will improve: Your child will get the discipline he or she needs to make studying a priority. Completing homework will be a goal, not a challenge. And, concentration will improve, which is essential in your child becoming a consistent, successful student.
Bullies: Your child will be taught to think smart and to avoid bad situations. Confidence is the key to 'bully-proofing' your child and our classes will work to increase that confidence with every lesson. He or she will learn valuable self-defense skills (mental and physical) but will be taught that violence is always a last resort.
Leadership: Our programs will teach your child the importance of setting and accomplishing goals. Our students learn to make decisions, have confidence and that success is a habit. These are just some of the qualities that will help your child develop into a leader, not a follower.
FITNESS
TAMPA COMBAT provides fitness training that no other gym offers. Boot Camps are good but they get redundant and they are everywhere. TAMPA COMBAT is the ONLY gym that offers KettleSport and CombatFit! FEES
Payment Options:
1. $100 / month for unlimited gym membership. There is a one time, non-refundable, $30 registration fee.
2. $20 single visit mat fee.
3. PUNCH CARD.
$125 / 10 classes or,
$150 / 15 classes or,
$180 / 20 classes.
PUNCH CARDS are good for 3 months. There are no carry overs on unused classes. A new card is purchased at the end of use or at the time of expiration, whichever comes first.
Family group rates are available as well as discounts for active military and LEO.
